Encouragers mentor participants of Staying Ahead, providing support and, sometimes, direction as the individuals continue down the path to self-sufficiency and stability. A listening ear and a gentle, guiding hand greatly encourage the individuals and help them improve the 11 resource areas of their lives. Encouragers may attend monthly Staying Ahead meetings, or volunteer a few hours a year. They may work with one graduate or several.
Volunteers must pass a background check and sign a confidentiality agreement.
